Fipher is a Windows based program that will transfer and decipher any mainframe file into any PC database without any coding on the mainframe.

All you need is the Fipher program (the Basic version is free with registration), an FTP connection to the mainframe (or the ability to download a file), and a Transfer Layout for the file.  A Transfer Layout is the "map" of the records and fields and a mainframe file and the tables and columns of a database.

With Fipher Basic version, the Transfer Layout is developed and tested by us (usually by the next day) from your COBOL copybook and delivered to you.  You can get a trial version of any Transfer Layout for free.   read more

With Fipher Professional, your organization has the ability to create Transfer Layouts from your COBOL mainframe copybook. After imported the COBOL copybook into a Transfer Layout, you can then use the extensive toolset with Fipher Professional to modify the Transfer Layout to your specific needs.  Transfer Layouts developed by Fipher Professional are fully compatible with Fipher Basic, that you may have running on other machines within your organization.  read more
